Introducing the Android 8.0 Oreo Car Stereo

Android’s latest release, ‘Android 8.0 Oreo’, follows on in formidable fashion from the Android Marshmallow 6.0 which was released around a year ago. With each updated Android car stereo release, the anticipation and expectation understandably grows.

  As it happens, the Android 8.0 ‘Oreo’ is set to become as in demand as its snacking namesake, thanks to its increased performance and capacity. Most noticeably, the staple inclusion of Octa-core processors on all units, instantly sets it apart from the Android Nougat 7.1 head units which predominantly operated with quad-core processors (50% less). On top of that, there is now a wholesome 4G RAM and 32G ROM to celebrate with each unit.   All confectionery aside, this new range of Android car stereos are looking exceedingly tasty!  

Google Play Protect

  With over a billion users, Play Protect is a security system which never sleeps. It works overtime to ensure your device, its data and apps are safe and secure. But how can Android guarantee this? With over 50 billion apps scanned daily, all Android apps undergo rigorous security testing before being allowed to appear in the Google Store. Therefore, you know it’s been checked and approved, before you even download it. Additionally, Google Play Protect also ensures safe browsing protection in Chrome. This means if you land on a site which is deemed suspicious, you’ll be warned and guarded back to safety.  

Multi-Screen

  Despite the multi-screen facility not being an exclusively new feature, it has been redeveloped for the better. The new Android 8.0 Oreo car stereo multi-screen now operates with a wider number of applications, allowing you to multitask and enjoy more of your favourite apps.  

User Interface

  The user interface has undergone a makeover, as have the subpages. The homepage has maintained its vibrant and interactive appeal, with a neatly designed grid for your favourite and most frequently used apps. Not only is there instant access to your apps from here, but you can also use the HD touch screen to control the features or options of an app, such as selecting the next song or cranking up the volume! Xtrons have tried to maintain the organised nature of Android 8.0 Oreo car stereo interface for familiarity and practicality purposes.  

Redesigned Back End

  Whilst most of our attention is taken up by the internal abilities and performance, we do often develop the external features too. Not only do we like to make the unit as appealing as possible on the front-end, but we also like to make sure it’s adaptable and as functional as possible at the back-end too. New designs to the sink connectors have maximised the connection capabilities whilst making things tidier. The ‘plug & go’ design aims to match original connectors, making installation seamless. Other connectors now perform up to 3 GHz, meeting the mechanical and environmental automotive industry requirements. We’ve also thickened the aluminium heat sink, for efficient heat dissipation.
