We’ve put together some suggestions for the top 13 things you should always keep in your car to make your life a little easier - every day, but especially when those mishaps happen. You can also download our free eBook, ‘The Ultimate Car Owners Guide’ for even more advice on buying and maintaining your car, what to do in an emergency, and more ideas on what to keep in your car.
Busy professionals and parents are often rushing to get from A to B, so a handy portable car organiser is a great way to keep the essentials nearby. We love this roll-up glove box essentials caddy, that you can pop in your glove compartment and fill with things like important documents (car manual etc), sewing kit, hand sanitiser, spare change etc!
You never know when you might need a plaster or a sterilizing wipe, so keeping a first aid kit in your car is a wise move. Keep it topped up with things like painkillers and child-safe paracetamol and motion-sickness medicine too.
Breakdowns and accidents do happen, so are you prepared? Check out this printable car emergency kit from Home Storage Solutions, with things you can’t be without in the event of a road emergency. You can also download our free eBook, ‘The Ultimate Car Owners Guide’ which gives simple and practical tips on what to do if you breakdown.
You never know when you’ll need to wrap up warm, especially if you breakdown over night or need to walk somewhere to get assistance. Keep a couple of fleece blankets, a couple of hats and two pairs of gloves in the boot for when you need them most.
If you’re like most of us, you probably rely too much on plastic to get by. But there are many occasions where cold hard money helps – especially the loose change variety! For example, paying for car parking meters, or making a pit stop in a country pub to break up a long car journey. Many places still don’t accept cards, so keep around £40 in notes and £10 in loose change in a secure place in your car.
It’s always handy so have a little travel-sized ‘freshen up’ kit with things like perfume/aftershave, deodorant, wipes, hair spray/dry shampoo, lip balm and moisturizer, so you can freshen up on the go.
That’s it – our top 13 car essentials. We’d love to hear yours too, so why not tweet us @xtrons_ug?
